Incredible sighting with roughly 12 Lions and 4 dead buffalo in a area of one hectare. Clear signs that one calf was killed by Lions but the others seem to have succumbed to food stress and or temperatures fluctuations. Very unusual circumstances yet a very interesting interaction amongst Lions, Spotted Hyena and Vultures.

With a population of around 40,000, Kruger is home to some of the most beautiful wide bossed bulls in Africa thanks the a 100 years of protection, perfect habitat and a good genetic pool.

In the early 2000’s the population was heavily impacted by BTB (bovine tuberculoses) but has since responded successfully through park interventions
