On the Day of your Safari :
That afternoon we will collect you from your accommodation (if you with 15km) or alternatively we collect you from the nearest KNP gate on a Open Safari Vehicle. There is safe parking at all of the gates should you need to leave your vehicle at the gate. Your pick up will be personally scheduled and confirmed via email prior. As a guideline we collect guests from 12h30pm. We will manage your KNP entrance process on your behalf.
We suggest that you dress warmly with layered clothing that can be removed as the afternoon may begin to cool down or there is a possibility of a afternoon rains during the summer months. We do provide ponchos for guests should there be any signs of rain. We recommend comfortable shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen and of course a good hat. We do offer a complementary pair of binoculars on the vehicle but make sure you bring along your camera.
As soon as we arrive at the entrance gate your guide will manage your entrance on your behalf and shortly there after we will head off into the Park. We spend the first 2h30min of the afternoon exploring and looking for signs of the mornings activity. The afternoon safaris provide us an opportunity to maximise on sightings that have been picked up already and are still visual.
Around 3pm we will stop for an afternoon comfort break at one of the Camps or outposts. You are welcome to then order a snack or grab a hot cup of coffee. After our stop its back on the vehicle and following a route that will slowly return us to the gate around 17h45 and then onto accommodation.
Our Safari style is personalised and interpretive and blends natural facts with ancient bush wisdoms. We prefer to take our time and not rush, with 147 mammals, 520 birds, 172 reptiles and over 2,400 species or flora, there is a tremendous amount to see. Our Safaris offer a deeply insightful and offer a wonder-filled story board, carefully selected routes, attention the history and heritage and of course close up and personal encounters.

What time do our Day Safaris Depart and return ?
Our Sunrise Half Day and Full Day Safaris depart from the nearest gate of entry to your accommodation. If you are within 15km of a Kruger Park gate we will collect you from your accommodation on the morning and drop you off after your Safari.

Winter months from 06h00am
On our Half Day Safaris we aim to have our clients back at the exit gates by 12h30pm and 15h30pm for our Full Day Safaris.
For our Private Vehicle Safaris this is completely flexible and will be determined based on your request.
What kind of Safaris vehicles do we use ?
All of our Safaris are conducted on brand new, state of the art Safaris Vehicles. Are Safari vehicles are considered to be Open-air Safari Vehicles that offer you direct access to your Guide. This is important to note because some Safari Vehicles have a closed cab in the front where the guide peers through a small gap. We don't believe in this and have ensured our guests are not hindered by this set up. Our Vehicles can accommodate up to 9 comfortably and are equipped with mineral waters and onboard coffee and tea options that no other operator can offer. We also offer our clients fleece blankets and ponchos in th event that the weather changes. Our Safari Vehicles have basic first aid kits and are insured with R50million personal liability. Apart from that we have the best in the business, just ask our guests!.
Are Game drives in Safari vehicles safe ?
Absolutely ! Firstly, because you are in the hands of an expert guide (Our guides are FGASA qualified) and secondly because under the correct guidance the wildlife does not perceive us to be a threat and as such disregards our presence. The advantage is that you will have open air, front row seats to some of the most spectacular wildlife in Africa. There is no comparison between a Open Safari vehicle and a closed vehicle (bus or even SUV). We have a far greater ride height which offers the best views and together with a guide thats an expert on the Park your experience is far superior than a self-drive.
Can we drive off road in the Kruger Park ?
Sadly this is not allowed but its also for the best reasons. The simple answer is that Kruger is a National Park which means its a protected environment. In order to ensure we can pass this down to future generations there are rules in place to safe guard and preserve this iconic wilderness from human disruption. It also means that you don't have clueless guests driving around over sensitive areas causing untold damage to the Parks fauna and flora.
Are we allowed to get out of the vehicle ?
No, and this is for your own safety. There are areas that your guide will take you to that allows you to get out of the vehicle but these will be camps and picnic stops. For you r own safety the Park does not allow anyone to get out of the vehicle in the bush.
Where can you stop and eat on a Day Safari in Kruger ?
All of the 12 Main Camps in the Park have a restaurant as well as a shop with a wide variety of food and beverage options. Over and above this you also two outposts in the Southern Regional, Tshokwane and Afsaal, which offers a bush kitchen menu with local favourites. All of the Camp restaurants have a menu that covers breakfast, lunch and dinner and also has vegetarian options available. The Park does not support Halaal. So weather you are on a Day Safari or Overnight Safari there are many options available. All our Safaris are private so when you area with us we will establish a daily route and itinerary that covers an area and includes stops at the Camps for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For guests on a Day Safari we recommend a daily budget of R185pp for food and beverages. We do provide Coffee, tea and waters on our Open Safari Vehicles.
Can you bring your own food into Kruger on a Day Safari ?
If you have a particular dietary requirement or you are staying outside the Park and wanting to book a Day Safari, you are certainly welcome to bring your own food in. On a day Safari guests can bring a cooler box with food, snack and beverages however no alcohol will be allowed through the entrance gate. On the overnight Safaris we include meals so this wont be necessary but should you be Halal or Vegan we can make prior arrangements to cater fo you.
What kind of animals can you see on a Kruger Park Day Safari ?
Not to take away from any of the excitement but its important to first remember that the Kruger National Park is not a Zoo. The exciting part is that every Safari is a treasure hunt and the Park offers us an incredible variety of fauna and flora to discover. There are over 140 mammal species, 520 Bird species, 172 reptiles, 2400 flora species and countless invertebrates. During the course of a single day guests can expect to encounter many mammals species with the common ones being Impala, Zebra, Wildebeest (Gnu), Giraffe, Elephant, Buffalo, Kudu, Warthog, Hippopotamus and Waterbuck. Then their are of course the rarer species which include the predators like Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wilddog and Hyena. All of these species are mainly nocturnal in their behaviour but they do sometimes offer us a glimpse during the day light hours. The benefit of having a Private Safaria Guide is they he/she will know exactly which areas are likely to have the greatest predator activity and will get you right into the hotspots. Whilst we can never guarantee see these rarer species in a single day we would have a far greater opportunity to see then during a longer duration in the Park. Also don't forget that our guides also love seeing them so they will engage with other guides and also structure each safari in such a way that it improves your opportunities of seeing one of the more elusive animals. Our Safaria style doesn't chase the Big 5 but rather offers a clients a holistic experience of Kruger that incorporates all its fauna and flora to create much more rewarding experience. Yes sure we also want to see the Big 5 but from experience and what our clients have taught us, the greater Safari experience is the most important part.
What should you wear on a Kruger Park Day Safari ?
The right colours are khaki and tan for the obvious reasons that they hide the dirt, lend into the surroundings and good for game walks. When you are travelling by Open Safari Vehicle you can wear similar but jeans are also fine. We do however recommend that you avoid shirts that are bright in colour with unusual patterns, theres no point scaring the animals and other guests. Here is a list of the general safari attire must-haves for your South African safari: 1. Comfortable walking shoes or a pair of sandals. 2. A decent hat or cap which can take direct sun and protect your face. 3. Waterproof windbreaker or fleece for cool mornings and bad weather. 5. Long pants that can be zipped into shorts. 6. Earth tones are the best colours 7. Tea shirt or Button-down long-sleeve sport shirts (technical material best) 8. Sunglasses

Our Half-Day African Sunrise Safari greets the dawn chorus at sunrise.
Guests will either self-drive to the designated Kruger Park Gate or be collected from their accommodation on Open Safari Vehicle as long as its within 20km of one of the main Kruger Park Gates. To ensure that our guests get the most out of their Safari we recommend accessing from either Paul Kruger, Phabeni or Numbi gate or Malelane Gate. We can operate from Orpen Gate or Crocodile Bridge on request.
Prior to entrance into the Park guests are required to complete the SANParks and Safaria Indemnity forms and must have copies of ID or Passport on hand to present to gate officials. Your guide will handle your entrance process to ensure a quick and easy access.
We will enter the gates shortly after there opening (05h45 in summer and 06h15 in winter) but not before your pre-drive briefing whilst enjoying a safari cappuccino and listening to the magnificent morning sounds of the African bush.
Our professional guides will introduce you to the splendour of the Kruger National Park and reading the mornings tracks and signs will pick up on the previous nights activity.
Between 08h30 to 09h15 we will stop at one of the rest camps for breakfast (all meals for your own account) before heading out again into the bush.
We again stop for lunch at 12h00.
Whilst in the rest camps we will unpack some of the history and iconic landmarks in the camp areas and close vicinity. Part of the magic of Kruger is understanding her history and events that shaped the land.
After lunch you will slowly make your back to the same Gate you entered through and arrive around 13h00pm.

Should any of our guests personal items be left in the vehicle we will endeavour to have it returned however the owner will be liable for any costs incurred.
Please note that a booking is only considered 100% confirmed once payment, in full, for the individual or Safari group has been received and acknowledged by Safaria.

I together with my heirs, executors and administrators hereby release Safaria Trading Pty Ltd, its officers, servants, agents and representatives, from any liability, in connection with my participation in any tour, and from any liability or claims that could accrue to me or my heirs, executors and administrators arising out of my participation in the tour or in any related activities irrespective of whether such claim or claims arose through the negligence of any person, or from any of the risks, dangers or hazards inherent in an African Safari tour, or of any loss of, or damage to, any property from any cause whatsoever and I further indemnify and hold harmless Safaria Trading Pty Ltd.

In the event that Safaria, at any time, receives another firm enquiry, accompanied by the payment of a 25% deposit, seeking available accommodation being held by any of the lodges in its collection for the Guest, then Safaria reserves the right to request the Guest to immediately release the said accommodation; or Pay a non-refundable deposit to the relevant lodge in the sum equivalent to 25% of the full account, so as to secure the reservation.

- In the case of a cancellation where a 3rd party, Lodge, Destination or Operator is involved, such as accommodation, flights, transfer shuttles or coaches, the prevailing Lodge, destination or Operators cancellation policy will apply.
On acceptance and payment of your Day Safari you willingly acknowledge and accept the following conditions:

We would also recommend this for the simple reason that there is so much to see in the Kruger Park that one really does need a full day to experience it. As sun slowly begins to rise over the Kruger National Park, our guests are collected from Paul Kruger Gate, Phabeni Gate, Numbi Gate or Malelane Gate. These pick up times are confirmed prior but are usually between 05h30am and 06h00am. Guests staying in Hazyview can be collected from their accommodation and guests without transport can book a transfer from their accommodation to the closest gate. Prior to your departure we would request copies of each guests Passport via email so that we pre-arrange your access into the Park. After all if you only have a day why waste valuable time queuing when you should be exploring.
After the pre-drive safety discussion you will begin your bush Ulendo. ‘Going-to-bush’ and discovering the Kruger Park over a full day, is an extraordinary experience. Waking with all of its wildlife and watching as they go about their daily journey, our guides will interpret and share with you their story. We want our Safarras to experience the Kruger National Park visually, imaginatively and emotionally. For this very reason our guides are not only experts on the land and its wildlife but also its heritage and folklore.
As you journey your guide will start to share all of these wonders. You will seek out its wildlife and go in search of the legendary Big 5. On Ulendo you will learn the story of Kruger the people and cultures that created this mystical place.
